Lauren Sabo Studium & Punctum

The punctum in this first image for me is the golden dog identification tag as well as the scarf (i.e. both accessories around the neck).
The studium in Edward Weston's photograph is that of the individual before the camera and the capacity of the subject. The punctum for me however is the plate of fruit in the image that draws my eye to it every time and make me think deeper into the meaning of the image.

  1. I agree. The plate of fruit draws in my focus and makes me wonder why it is there and the possible meanings behind it.

  2. Yes, the fruit is interesting. It becomes stranger than the mask on the woman's face. Sheilah
